If you are unable to connect to the Catawba Network using the tools and instructions above, bring your computer to the Information Technology department (lower level of Hoke Building) and we will assist. If you are bringing a laptop, make sure you bring the power cord as well.

You can also contact the Information Technology Helpdesk at 704-637-4666.

Virus Protection

Per the Acceptable User Policy, you must have an Anti-Virus program installed with up-to-date signatures to connect to the Catawba network. If you do not already have an Anti-Virus program installed, we recommend that you install Microsoft Security Essentials (below) which is free.

If the Information Technology department detects virus activity coming from your computer your account will be quarantined and you will not be able to access the network until the virus has been removed and the removal has been verified by Information Technology. For a fee of $50, the Information Technology department can remove the virus for you. Information Technology does not provide any computer maintenance or repair services other than virus removal.
